Verified ReviewerLooking for Source for Bissell Replacement Parts in Canada
- Parts must be ordered from the U.S. with shipping and duty.
- No Canada product support; local parts needed or Bissell pays shipping and duty.
Have to order replacement parts from the U.S., and pay the shipping AND duty!! Do not want to give U.S.
my business, prefer local source. Bissell sells their products in every Canadian retail store, yet provide no product support in Canada!
Def not OK with paying DUTY for parts to fix an item purchased in Canada. Please fix this discriminatory situation; either supply replacement parts through a local business, or Bissell should pay for shipping and duty.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Handle on my Bissell crosewave keeps cracking very poorly made
- The machine is expensive.
- Warranty expired; they want $35 for a new handle.
- The handle is cracked.
The machine is expensive to have such a cheap handle, and I know the warranty just ran out, and they want to charge me $35.00 for a new handle. Very upset, to be honest. I want to do a review of the handle that is cracked and see how many more people experience this.
- It is quidk

Verified Reviewer2 years of extended warranty part replacement. Still no part
- Handle broke and extended warranty purchased.
- They blamed me after almost two years and 3+ failures.
- Buy a Dyson for better product and service.
I started this experience almost 2 years ago. The handle broke.
No problem, I've bought the extended warranty. Almost 2 years later and 3+ failed attempts. It eventually found its way into their High Investigation Team's hand. Wow!!!
Are these guys ever unhelpful (useless). Shout out to Arturo. Thanks for unsuccessfully helping me and eventually failing me. Then, blaming me as a way to dismiss my case.
Please read this: BUY A DYSON. It's a better product and they know how to provide a better customer service experience. Not strife, stressed, and depressed.
I hope this helps someone to avoid this experience which I've had. Never again.

Verified ReviewerFrustration
- Reaching into the canister is needed to empty by removing air deflection parts.
- Emptying must be done outside to avoid dust.
Bissell Powerforce Rewind Pet Vacuum.
For starters, who thought it was a good idea to have to reach into the canister to remove the air deflection parts to empty the canister? I have to go outside to empty it because the ensuing dust storm will require yet another pass if done inside, as well as a shower.
When cleaning any of my area rugs, the height adjustment is completely useless. One setting is too high, so I lower it one single click and the entire unit burrows itself into the rug and is unable to be pushed or pulled.
Is the third time a charm, or is it a case of 'fool me once, shame on me'?
I have lost all interest in anything Bissell.
User's recommendation: Invest in ANYTHING else but Bissell, 2 Styles of their Pet eraser/rewind, Both extended cleaning time to such an extent I purposely neglect it.
Poor design, terrible customer service!
- Beater brush won't shut off.
- Manual says beater brush does not shut off.
- Support sent emails; the reviewer won't buy again.
I purchased a pet Clearview vacuum from Bissell. When I received it, the beater brush would not shut off?!
I have never seen this before. I contacted customer service (Daniel) and was sent back a snippet from a manufacturer manual. I didn't see the manual before purchasing it and it said no where that it didn't shut off. It stated that the beater brush does not shut off.
Keep your pets and their tails away from it while vacumming and it can cause static shocks. What? For a pet loving company why would you design a vacuum that does that?
I told Daniel that I would never buy from them again and not to send me anymore emails, he continues to send me emails just to *** me off. HORRIBLE company and you can't talk to anyone to complain about the harassing from customer service.
User's recommendation: Stay Away!

Verified ReviewerNo longer a Bissell customer
- Quality control failures; holes in suction tube.
- Warranty process sent wrong parts and delays.
- Out of warranty; 25% off defective part.
Do not buy Bissell! Their quality control and customer service is a complete failure.
I purchased a Pet Hair Eraser Slim. It hadn't been a year and there were three holes in the suction tube. I called, they sent a replacement because the vacuum was still under warranty. I had to send my damaged one back which of course meant they would put the same badly designed tube in it and send it out to someone else.
They sent the wrong head. I had to send that back and then they sent the right one. Mind you, I was without a vacuum all through this. Here I am, not even another year later, and I have *** in the suction tube again.
I contacted them. They offered me a 20% discount to buy that same defective reworked part or to buy a new vacuum. Because the vacuum is now out of warranty, past one year, they do not warranty the defective part they replaced separately. This is unacceptable, I say.
They have an obviously defective product, my vacuum isn't even three years old and I'm dealing with holes in the second tube. The best they can do is 25% off, they say. Another 5% off!? Are you out of your mind!?
I tell them to escalate this to a higher up. They say I will be contacted within a week by email with a decision. I received an email within an hour saying the same thing. That it's a 25% discount and it's only valid while on chat or phone ordering through an agent with this complaint.
Completely blown off. Bissell, you are a huge company. Your customer service should be exponentially better. There is absolutely no reason my vacuum shouldn't have been replaced by the newer model, at the very least.
Your vacuum lasted less than a year and now I have to buy another one. I promise you, it won't be a Bissell.

Verified ReviewerPoor service on an order.
- Ordered one post filter and two pre motor filters and paid for two.
- Only one of the two filters arrived; post filter delivered, pre filters missing.
I ordered one post filter and two pre motor filter for my vacuum cleaner on September 25/14.
I received the post motor filter on October 8/24 but not the pre motor filters. The web site said the filters were waiting to be picked up by the shipper.
I received one of the filters on November 8/24.
I ordered and paid for two filter but received one. I am not going to order from Bissel ever again.
- Poor customer care
Preferred solution: If possible I would like the second filter from my order.
User's recommendation: Do not order anything from Bissell.

Verified ReviewerRobotic responses with no common sense
- The product damaged my carpet and a claim was opened without my request.
- Customer service stalled and offered a low refund.
Back in March, I used their product for the first time after unboxing it, having bought it several months prior in preparation for my aging dog. When I finally used it, it damaged my carpet.
I immediately reached out to them and tried to figure out if it was something that I had done wrong or anything like that, and they decided to open a claim without my request or acknowledgment. After doing this, it made it so that I couldn't file a homeowner's claim for the carpets that were damaged, or even a warranty claim through the carpet company. I proceeded to keep working with them and despite them requesting that I make time for them to call me, they never did make the phone calls. Afterward, after getting transferred several times to different people, because supposedly, they kept asking to let the person go.
I finally got someone who did absolutely nothing but drag his feet and make excuses and ridiculous offers. After a month of them not doing anything, I eventually let them know I was going to replace the carpet because it was in my office and it impacted my business, as customers could obviously see the giant stain. They acknowledged it but afterwards then tried to say that I did not give them an appropriate amount of time and they wanted me to look into redyeing the carpet. I did so post facto, and it would've been just as expensive as it was to replace the carpet.
There is only one guy in my area that does it, and he even said that he probably couldn't have matched my carpet due to the complexity of the colors. After sending all of this to their customer service, they refused to acknowledge it and continued to make offers to refund me for the damages at less than 20% of the cost. Furthermore, keep in mind, I had already had to send in my machine and then they waited until 2 months in to request the formulas, expecting me to just keep it. Then when I informed them that I had thrown it out, they made it out like it was my fault.
Even when I made the valid point that the label they sent me to send in my machine did not include any liquids to be sent, they refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing and continued to put it off on me. When I did get my machine back, I proceeded to videotape me unboxing it and using it on a test fabric. At which time it spouted water out of its electrical sockets. When I let them know that this was a thing, and I attempted to send them the video, they not only didn't want it, but they just acknowledged the fact that this happens sometimes.
They admitted that they put the machines together wrong but that wouldn't allow them to accept any responsibility or culpability towards the damages of carpets because there's no way that they could put together a machine that could damage something, even though shooting water out of electrical sockets is completely dangerous. After months of robotic responses, I finally got the Better Business Bureau involved and they have continued to do the exact same thing where they just continuously request the same receipts and the same statements.
Even though everything has been provided, I would not do business with these guys. If someone told me that this was the only company to clean my carpets, I would go out and get a scrub brush and do it myself.
- Robotic responses with no common sense and no actual intent to solve the issue
Preferred solution: Cover for damages as previously discussed with company
User's recommendation: Steer clear
Need a replacement part
Agent located the part, came with another part, so Lance is sending them out, and I should receive it in 4-5days. Very pleased with cooperative service

Verified ReviewerResolved: Cannot get someone from Bissell to talk to about a problem with a shampooer. They direct me out to a company where I have to pay
- Cannot find product service and need help.
- The manual's Bissell number led to a paid third party, and they may not analyze the problem.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I connected with a very thorough technician, who had me check several possible causes of machine not sucking up. He spent a lot of time on that, and he finally decided shampooer should be taken in for repair, which I did
See above. I cannot find the product service.
I need people to help. I called the Bissell number in the manual.
I was put through to another company who wanted me to pay first. What if they cannot analyze the problem?!
- Good machine when it works
- No direct help line to bissell
Preferred solution: Help diagnosing problem
User's recommendation: product is good till it doesn’t work any more, requiring customer to take it to a store, when it could be possible to solve problem over phone. To do that we have to contact another company and pay a fee before speaking with them.

Verified ReviewerDeceptive Prcatice
- Bissell steam shot recalled; settlement awarded.
- Refund not issued in 4-6 weeks; BBB helped; check issued, due 2-4 weeks; USPS undeliverable led to UPS.
Still waiting for payment
After several calls and involving the BBB, Bissell responded stating the check was issued and would take another 2-4 weeks. If the check was issued timely, why is it taking an additional 2-4 weeks added to the original time frame. How many other consumers are facing the same deceptive practice. I refused to accept their response.
I will probably lose the money as Bissell's retaliation for my complaints
Bissell finally responded and stated they would UPS my funds. The reason for the delay was the USPS returned my refund as undeliverable.
- Poor customer service
- Uncooperative
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Keep away
